    Question

Last I checked my timing was set at 10 deg. My car started to run lean so I was checking the timing and now it is at 18. Any ideas why such a big change in timing.

Did you jump the service check connector before you checked the timing? If not that could be your problem...the ECU will vary timing as per the conditons.

Would this have anything to do with why my car is running lean(according to a/f meter and car hesitates under throttle)?

Did you set the timing personaly at 10 degrees the first time or was it a mechanic that did it? If it was you how did you determine that you set it at 10 degrees? Has anything else been done to your car since then...basic maintenance? Not to question your mechanical skills, but are you sure you checked it right...no chance the gun was off or you looked at the wrong line? 10 to 18 is quite a big jump...so unless your distibutor is loose and it moved or you timing belt jumped a few teeth which I doubt since the car is not running too bad? There is not really anything else that could explain the change?

Well if it is at 18 degrees it definately could be detonating. Be real careful boosting it until you get this issue straightened out!

I am sure it was at 10, I had to move the dist. all the way out to get it back at 10. I have no clue.
The only thing I have done was installed a MSD SCI and blaster ss coil, but that was a few weeks ago, and the car has run fine untill day before yesterday.

oh well, thanks for you input

i have the same problem, my car hesitates at part throttle and/or at WOT. When it hesitates, i accecerate more then it will go out of hesitation. The car does that alot, i have know idea as to what it is, the car does hesitate alot though. I have the MSD SCI and the MSD blaster coil SS and 440cc injectors, installed last year. Can someone please help with this situation. i need to get it fixed soon.....

problem: car bogs/hesitates at part throttle and WOT. Could it be bad ignition?

Solution????: is it my fueling, i have an EFI PMS unit. I changed my SC belt, do you think it messed up my fuel curves???

    thanks in advance
